Horseback Riding Lessons

Dose your son or daughter love horses? Can’t afford to purchase and board a horse? How about giving him or her the gift of ridding lessons? Whether you want lessons at your farm on your horse, or at my farm on one of my training horses, it is up to you. You also pick the time and the style of lessons you want. The Horseman’s Council has found that horseback riding when done on a regular basis is an excellent type of low impact exercise. It also teaches discipline and responsibility to young and old alike.

English Lessons

Great way to work on balance, and stamina in the show ring. I focus on not only teaching those items but how you can feel the horse move under you and how to react to his/her movements. Will also work on dressage and jumping. Jumping will be done under 2 ft fences unless student is over the age of 18.

Western Lessons

Great way for kids to get involved with horse. Using the support of a western saddle. Will work with the student to get his/her confidence up as far as being on a horse. Once the student is comfortable being on a horse we can decide how to progress, either into a Western Show Ring, or Western Trail Riding, or into an English/Speed environment. Will teach standard commands and work with the student in a walk, trot, canter to help build confidence. Great place for young or un-experienced riders to start, or great to work on show skills

Speed Lessons
I require some type of formal training before starting a student out on a speed horse. Speed lessons are very individualized and personalized for the student. They can range from Pole Bending, Barrels, or as simple as the open Plug.

All ridding lessons follow this pricing information:
$30 an hour on your Horse at My Farm
$35 an hour on your Horse at Your Farm
$40 an hour on my Horse at My Farm

Group Lessons are available on weekends and at a large savings
All students MUST provide an Equine Safety Helmet to take lessons on my horses as well as horseback riding insurance to cover any injuries. Schuetz Farms will NO LONGER have riding insurance available for purchase from the farm office, or Country Insurance starting June 1, 2004.
